After twenty-three years of owning and operating a successful printing and graphic design company in Long Beach, California, Garland wanted to try something new.  One day in 1994 a friend almost jokingly suggested real estate.  Something clicked, and Garland has never looked back.

Three years later Garland and his partner of eighteen years relocated to the Palominas / Hereford area.  Two short years after that, Garland became a Designated Broker and opened Rio Verde Realty in Bisbee.

Garland believes that all of his success begins with kindness.  "I try to establish an attitude of 'personal care' with each client.  I have found the continued friendships that I've made to be the most rewarding part of this business.  That is a direct result of caring for and helping others."

However, Garland also possesses a keen business head.  "I had a mentor earlier in life that taught me everything I know about running a successful business. Today, Mildred Chelf is retired, but remains a treasured friend."

When not practicing real estate, Garland enjoys relaxing or working on his ranch.  Of course those of us who know Garland understand that "relaxing" for him might mean a night out dancing or throwing a huge party for his friends!
